Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was 24 years old when he was killed in an accident on a freeway in South Florida on Saturday morning.
As the car ran out of gas on the highway, Haskins attempted to get out of the car to cross the highway on foot, but was struck and killed by an oncoming truck.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said: “I am deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Haskins. After joining the Steelers, he quickly integrated into the team and was our hardest working member on and off the court. One. Dwyane is a great teammate and a great friend. My heart is broken.”
The first team to draft Haskins was the Washington Commander. Coach Ron Rivera said: “Dwyane is a talented young man with a great future ahead. . pity.”
