Kafka, who spent the past two years with the Chiefs as quarterbacks coach/passing coordinator, was one of the last three candidates for the previous Giants offensive coordinator. The other two are Texans quarterbacks coach/passing coordinator Pep Hamilton and Browns wide receiver coach/passing coordinator Chad O’Shea.

New head coach Brian Daboll has identified three main coordinators: Kafka on offense, Patrick Graham on defense, and Thomas McGooey. Thomas McGaughey) in charge of the Secret Service.

Graham was one of the Vikings head coaching candidates, but it now appears that the position has gone to Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell. McGowan turned down the opportunity to serve as offensive coordinator for the Panthers.
