Cowboys extend wide receiver Michael Gallup to 5-year deal

On Sunday, NFL Network reporters reported that the Cowboys will sign wide receiver Michael Gallup to a five-year extension for a total salary of $62.5 million, including a guaranteed $27 million.

Gallup, a third-round pick in 2018, showed off his vertical offense during his four years with the Cowboys. The Cowboys had already confirmed the day before that they would trade wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Browns, so keeping Gallup is even more important.

Gallup tore the ACL in his left knee in January and underwent surgery in February. He is still recovering, but is expected to be available for the regular season after September.

Gallup has 193 catches for 2,902 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career. The 2019 season was his personal best: 66 catches for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns.

In addition, wide receiver Cedrick Wilson is expected to leave the team, but Noah Brown (Noah Brown) will stay on a one-year contract. The Cowboys will also look for more options to bolster the outside group in the free market.
